Privacy Policy
Application: BEC Business Dashboard
Provider: Border East Consulting Corp (“Border East”, “we”, “us”)
Effective date: May 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the BEC Business Dashboard application (the “Application”) handles information. The Application is a private, read-only reporting tool operated by Border East Consulting Corp. We designed it to keep data handling minimal and local.
1. Information the Application accesses
When you authorize the Application to connect to a financial account, such as a QuickBooks Online company, it reads financial and business data from that account through the provider’s official API. This may include profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, accounts receivable and payable, invoices, customers, vendors, and transaction records. The Application accesses only the accounts you explicitly authorize, and only for the purpose of generating reports and analysis for you.
2. How the Application uses information
Information retrieved by the Application is used solely to produce reports, forecasts, and analysis at your request. The Application operates on a read-only basis and does not write to, alter, or delete any data in connected systems.
3. Storage and retention
The Application stores your authorization tokens locally on the device where you run it, so it can reconnect without repeating the sign-in. Report data is processed locally and saved only to files you choose to keep. Border East does not operate a server that collects or warehouses your financial data, and the Application does not transmit your financial data to Border East or to any third party other than the source provider you authorized.
4. Information sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your financial data. The only third party involved is the provider you connect to, such as Intuit for QuickBooks Online, whose own privacy terms govern the data held in your account with them.
5. Security
Because data and credentials remain on your own device, the security of that data depends substantially on the security of your device and accounts. The Application restricts permissions on the file that stores your credentials. You are responsible for protecting the device and for revoking access if it is lost or compromised.
6. Your choices
You may disconnect the Application at any time by revoking its authorization in your connected account (for example, in the Intuit account settings) and by deleting its local credential file. Doing so stops all further access.
7. Children’s privacy
The Application is a business tool intended for use by businesses and is not directed to children under the age of 13.
8. Canadian privacy law
Border East Consulting Corp handles personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation in Canada.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
10. Contact
